Mar. 31st, 2025: Supersessionism in the OT

And Esau hated Jacob.”

Gen. 27:41

This subject is a very spicy, controversial one. I want to bring you insight that hasn’t yet been presented in the “discourse” around Covenant Theology.

I’ll take us back to the 1st Book of Kings, chapter 11. To put it simply: King Solomon in this chapter is in the mystery of Pharaoh—he consorts with the Pharaoh’s Daughter (1 Kgs. 11:1), worships “other gods” (ibid., 11:4); he seeks to kill the legitimate heir of God’s kingdom (ibid. 11:40), & is ascribed the genocidal campaign of Joab, in Edom (ibid., 11:16), that is reminiscent of Pharaoh’s (Exo. 1:22) and Herod’s (Matt. 2).

...

It may be asserted that Jeroboam, & Hadad the Edomite—who are typically equivalent—(Solomon’s “adversaries”), are prefigurations of Christ Jesus (who reigns over what used to be Edom/Egypt, but has now “switched roles”, with a corrupt Israel).

This is affirmed by the encryption that Spirit unfolded before me: The sentence ויקם יי שטן (“And the Lord Stirred-up an Adversary” [1 Kgs. 11:14]) bears the acronym ישו (Jeshu).

...

So the roles here are switched: Hadad (the Edomite, and/or Egyptian) assumes the role of a Christ; all while, Solomon—nothing short than the king of Israel—is typically equivalent with Pharaoh.

Solomon represents the corruption of Israel, of Judaism, of the Mosaic authorities, of Law.

And this corruption is represented by the Temple of Sion: The First Temple (built by Solomon), the Second one (built by Herod), and the Third one (built by the Antichrist), all do typify the Rule of Mosaic Law, through the Sanhedrin.

And it could be asserted, that its “kings” (Solomon, Herod, and the Antichrist) are all typically equivalent (I’m not saying “reincarnations” outrightly, because—contrarily to a Patristic opinion condemning Solomon to Hell—the rabbins hold that the builder of the First Temple, who married the Pharaoh’s daughter, was Asmudeus, chief of daimons, imposturing as Solomon).

...

And so, it could be stated, that the roles having switched, are prophesied to, so—already in the OT.

...

P.S:

An interesting detail, is that one of them numerable literal Hebrew meanings, of the Name Pharaoh (פרעה) is: “The Circumcised-One”.
