![]() Mar. 22nd, 2025: Cedar & Hyssop. – – “And the Priest shall take Cedar Wood, and Hyssop, and Scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the Heifer.” —Num. 19:6 - - - --Gonna begin with some, personal stuff. (which is relevant for my discussion). My youngest brother is a 2009-born normie. That’s the last year of Gen-Z. He’s a very difficult individual for me, and we argue a lot. His full name’s Gematria is 480, which is the value of the name of Satan’s Wife (not gonna even spell it out here). I sometimes think, that the two of us are “reincarnations” of Reuben & Dan. (I’m the eldest son). That means, I’m to the South (Num. 2:10), and he is to the North (ibid. 2:25). Reuben & Dan are in the aspect of Cedar & Hyssop (Num. 19:6). The Cedar is—according to the Midrash—the “most high tree”. The Hyssop, on the other hand, is the most lowly weed. These two are associated and brought together in the purgatory rite of Moses (Red Heifer’s burning [Num. 19]; or Leper’s catharsis [Lev. 14]). The message of this work—the Midrash states—is that only by the “involvement” of High & Low, can a sinner be forgiven. The Cedar & the Hyssop are the “Head” & the “Feet” – the organs of, (respectively), thinking, & standing; speaking & walking. These two do correspond, just as well, to Passion & Action—two faculties of the Creator. The Head represents the interiority or indication—while the Feet typify extension, & an “expounding” of the divine mind. It is only by the union & reconciliation of these two elements that an operation can be conducted. It is only by the sharing & involving of the Far & the Close—the High & the Deep—that a universal “marriage” could be brought-upon. ... These two elements correspond to the “Small” & the “Big” – Jacob & Esau, who are the little-brother & the big-brother. The “Smallness” of Jacob is his humility, but also his under-development. The “Bigness” of Esau, is his boldness (pride, even) & maturity. The Sohar says: “He who is Big, is Small; & he who is Small, is Big”. He who humbles himself, becomes great; & the “grandiose” ones are, in truth, very little. It is for this reason that The Feet are, at once, constricted to the ground (which the Serpent licks), and a foundation for a Man’s “Placedness” & Rectitude; by which, Man stands, & walks. It is for this reason that The Head is at once raised in the air, up the heights of Faithfulness, & yet unextended; a “seminal” point of the body—the habitation of the mind—which could only come into action through the Hands, & Feet of Man. To live, to be—Man must “rise-up” with his head; but, also, to “go-down” with his feet. This is why, the “Up” & the “Down” must be wed together. The heavens & the earth must be “chymically” united—to produce the whole, Holy Man of the World. -- -- -- |
