![]() Apr. 7th, 2025: Biblical Chymistry – – – “Will a man leave the snow of Lebanon, which cometh from the Rock of the Field? or shall the cold Flowing Waters, – that come from Another Place – be forsaken?” (Jer. 18:14) -- - --
A bunch of weeks ago I wrote a series of posts, about the mystery of the north (see first, second, & third pts.). In them I connected the “North” to natural modalities such as passion & action—reflected in the “winds” of South & North. In continuation of it, I want to elaborate on the “Chymical” significance of the Northern wind; in the context of a Sacred Geography of the Holy Land. ... The River of Jordan (Heb. ירדן) derives from a combination of the words Jeor (יאר) & Dan (דן), – which mean: “the river of Dan”. This name’s reason is that the Jordan descends from the North – more particularly, the territory of the Tribe of Dan (situated in modern day Lebanon/Golan). It is by the waters of the Jordan, that Naaman got purged (2 Kgs. 5:14). Naaman was purged by Elisha, – whose name (Heb. אלישע), has the count of 411, as does the word: תהו (Tohu). This word, Tohu, – which means “Emptiness”, – I’ve connected to the mystery of the North – “Stretched-out over the ‘Empty-Place’ [Tohu]”, (Job 26:7). For a more elaborate discussion, see second & third parts of my Mystery of North series. The waters of the Jordan come-forth from the North – the habitation of Dan – and they’re the Me-Zahab (Gen. 36:39), i.e., the “Golden Waters”, of which it is written (Job 37:22): “Golden Splendor cometh from the North”. ... These Golden Waters are the “Flowing Waters”, that come “from An-Other Place” (Jer. 18:14); they are the “Snow of Lebanon” (ibid.); as, the “Other Place”, is the North – the abode of Dan, Lebanon, of which it stands: “Living waters, & streams from Lebanon” (Sng. 4:15). The name, Lebanon (לבנון) has the same count as does חקל (Chaldee for “Field”, as in Aceldama). This, surely, furtherly connects the Holy Land’s “North” to Esau, (the “Man of the Field” [Gen. 25:27]), and to Mt. Seir, (situated to the North of Sinai). See post. Lebanon is etymologically rooted in the Hebrew word Laban (“White”), which is connected by the Artists to the Libbun, the art of “Purgation”. For the Chymists & the Cabalists, the word Laban signifies the principle of Action & coagulation. It is associated with the mineral of Mercury, i.e. the Seminal Waters in the body. Contrarily, the Chymists associate its opposite color, red, to the body’s Blood – which does, (in its baseness & coarseness), represent a lesser level of perfection than the White principle. (It may be denoted as the principle of Passion & uncleanliness). ... As I’ve stated before, the Me-Zahab (Gen. 36:39) are the “Golden Waters”, which come from the North (Job 37:22). Me-Zahab is mentioned to be the father of Mehetabel – the wife of Hadar (last king of Edom), whose abode is named (ibid.): Pau, whose Hebrew significance (פעו) has the same count as Sion (ציון), i.e. 156, and is etymologically related to the term הופיע (“hath Shined”). So as in (Ps. 50:2): “Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined”. It is understood that the last king of Edom, & his wife, who are qualified with that “Golden Splendor” of the North, then signify that Sacred Geographick principle, of extension, form & power; of saturation & projection. ... (And before you say anything—no, I am not connecting this to me, even though I have the same name as the last king.) ...—————— - ☩ |
